Well protest all you want, it won't make any difference.
I can understand you like(d) your advantage. I also have my learning skills to 5/5 and 5/4 and I already have quite a lot more SP than some in-game friends that started playing at the same time as I did; on top of that I also get more learning skills SP refunded so my advantage will even increase.
You can be happy for the new players, the happy players who look forward to extra SP and/or a free attribute boost and for the game as a whole though. And after all, you won't lose the advantage you built up until 15-dec. If you stop comparing yourself to others - you'll get a decent SP boost and perhaps you can get a few friends to start playing as well.
All in all it's not that bad, not even for you. You don't have to be excited but you can also shrug and be glad you had the advantage thus far. Count your blessings. And if it really spoiled your gameplay experience, you're free to donate your stuff to me!

I think Khanid characters should get a +3% racial bonus to skilltraining speed!

Hm I don't know, I'm on EVEboards's top 500 skillspeed ratings but I don't feel bad about removing learning skills at all?
Am I being naive or .. ?

Originally by: Barbelo Valentinian As Ranger 1 has pointed out, you could say the same about many V trainings - hey let's shorten them!
And many other timesinks in the game.
Where does it end?
Well as been pointed out a few dozen times already, learning skills distinguish themselves by not adding any in-game improvements opposed to all the other skills.
There's been no call whatsoever to remove any other skills, perhaps to speed the training up a little. Every skill has its in-game use and value - except the learning skills.
Actually the only people bringing up the whole idea of removing more skills and the slippery slope/stepping stone idea into this are the pro-learners (like you), trying to cause some sort of hysteria about a skillless EVE where everything is granted.

This pro-Learning Skills therad is about:
[ ] lazy people, as if learning skills take effort [ ] choice and complexity, even though it's a non-choice [x] losing ones advantage, even if it's better for the game a a whole [ ] slippery slope, even withoyt any further evidence [ ] AD/HD newbs and patience, even though patience is no requirement to play
